Description
His every appearance is a triumph: top horse at the 24th NRW Elite Riding Horse Auction, record winner of his 30-day test in Zweibrücken – 1st place in dressage (9.63) as well as in jumping (8.77)! Undisputed winner of the Riding Horse Championships in Verden. Radiant Bundeschampion of four year old riding stallions 2003 in Warendorf. With a score of 9.38 he was the clear winner of a qualification in his class for the final round at the World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden 2004. Vice Bundeschampion of six year old dressage horses 2005 in Warendorf; after clearly leading in the final qualification (9.2) he just barely missed winning.
His foals catch everyone’s eye because of their well-balanced, beautiful type, the harmonious shape of their bodies and the quality of their movements. Just a few weeks ago, Belissimo passed his test as a stallion-maker with flying colors: not less than eleven sons were admitted to the approvals in Verden, Vechta and Münster-Handorf and of these, ten were licensed and four received a premium – two each in Hanover and Westphalia!
But his daughters also attract attention, such as a daughter who was the overall winner in the class for two year old mares in Bavaria.
Belissimo’s pedigree is simply brilliant: his sire, Beltain , was successful in the dressage ring up to S-level. He comes from one of the undoubtedly most popular and successful mare lines in Hanover: his dam, SPS Gänseliesel, is a full sister of the highly esteemed Celle State Stud sires, Garibaldi I and II , and the granddam of Wolkenstein I and II (Bundeschampion, State Stud Celle) as well as the Grand Prix dressage horse, Little Big Man. Very closely related are also the Celle State Stud sires, Brentano I and II and alsoBeauvalais (who was also Vice World Champion in 2002 in Jerez and won Olympic bronze in Athens in 2004).
The dam, SPS Roxa, county champion mare and also the dam of a jumper named Carthago 51, is a daughter of Romadour II , a stallion of the century, in a successful combination with the highly refined Thoroughbred bloodlines of Lucius (State Stud), one of the most popular performance sires of his day.
