State and federal championships, licensing events, mare and foal shows as well as auctions, these are the stages on which Va Bene and his offspring have been causing a sensation for years.
At a young age, he already sired seven licensed sons, including three premium stallions: Van Gaal, Vapiano, and Vivantio W. Three of his daughters from his first crop alone reached the final round at the 2024 Bavarian Elite Mare Show in Munich, including the champion mare Viola. In 2025, he sired Pandora II, the champion mare of the Brandenburg-Anhalt Horse Breeding Association’s Elite Mare Show in Prussendorf, who shortly afterward also placed in the Bundeschampionat finals.
Numerous auction top finishes and many winning foals at foal championships throughout Germany make Va Bene one of the most sought-after and frequently visited dressage stallions.
Va Bene always presents himself with a relaxed and confident air, possesses exceptional balance in all gaits, and completed a first-class 50-day test in Schlieckau in 2019 with a final score of 8.59. At five and six years old, he qualified for the Bundeschampionate (German National Championships) and participated in the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, Netherlands. By the age of seven, he had already won several advanced (S) level dressage competitions and was now successful in Intermédiaire II and young horse Grand Prix dressage.
The sire Veneno was a finalist in the Bundeschampionat of the German Riding Horse in 2015, successful under Kristy Oatley S*** and with her daughter Rose Oatley was team European Champion of the Juniors in Hartpury (GBR) in 2022.
Passion’s dam, herself placed in riding horse tests before being used for breeding, is a full sister to Preziosa 12, the 2009 Bundeschampion of four-year-old German riding horses, who was also a placed finalist in the 2010 Bundeschampionat for five-year-old dressage horses. Preziosa
‘s sire, Belissimo M, was Bundeschampion of German riding horses, fifth at the World Championships, reserve Bundeschampion of dressage horses, and later internationally successful in Grand Prix dressage.
He is the sire of several Bundeschampions, 61 licensed sons, and around 100 dressage horses successful at the S-level (advanced level). In 2018, he was named Hanoverian Stallion of the Year.
The great-grandfather Piaster, from the Wadenspanner stud farm, made Bavarian breeding history. He sired a number of licensed sons and 30 horses with S-level successes in dressage and show jumping. In 2002, he was named “Stallion of the Year” in Bavaria.
With Frühling and Ehrenschild, strong performance stallions are present in the fourth and fifth generations. From this Westphalian dam line 239/Almfee (by Almprinz-Sonnenfleck-Andres), which has also been at the Wadenspanner stud farm for decades, come several licensed stallions, including Apartos (PB Westphalia, SUI), Avocado (Ldb.
